Word leaks that Senator Ted Kennedy will endorse Barack Obama tomorrow. “The announcements also come on a weekend when the House’s highest-ranking Latino, California Rep. Xavier Becerra, also announced that he is backing Obama.“

And now is the time for Al Gore to endorse Obama before Feb. 5.
I read somewhere that Gore didn’t want to do anything that might hurt his new global “brand.” But, doing some research into a possible Gore endorsement, I found this from the WP back in September. Apparently [a] Gore then claimed he would endorse someone in the race before the primaries were over, and [b] all evidence would suggest that his choice would not be Clinton.
So, yeah, before February 5 would be ideal.
I’d think that an Obama endorsement would enhance Gore’s international reputation, as, following an Obama victory, Gore would seem like a kingmaker and a more powerful elder statesman than Bill Clinton.
What do you think Edwards is going to do?
I’d expect Edwards will stay in for the time being. He’s given no indication that he’s planning to get out. That’s his prerogative — As I said here, I don’t think anyone should tell him to get out if he doesn’t want to. (Besides, I’m not convinced most of his support would go to Obama anyway.)
