That ain’t Superfly or Marcellus Wallace. That’s Wilson Fisk, looking much more like the fearsome Kingpin than I’d ever imagined. In the still-extant case on the Daredevil movie, this goes in the thumbs’ up pile. Update: The rest of the main characters get their due.

Watch out, Powerpuffs…
While WB continues to screw up Supes, the Teen Titans go animated. Robin and Cyborg were gimmes, but I’m surprised they went with Starfire, Raven, and Changeling over the better-known Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Aqualad, and Speedy. At any rate, given that the animation department appears to be the only division of WB that “gets it,” and that The New Teen Titans was my first favorite comic way back in third grade (particularly the “Judas Contract” and Trigon storylines), I’m definitely going to check it out.
Bamf!
AICN gets their hands on the first pic of Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler in X-Men 2. Looks a bit goofy, I suppose, but there’s no real way of telling until we see him move.
Kung Fu?
I know I’ve been posting a lot about the Superman fiasco at WB of late, but this review of the JJ Abrams script has to be read to be believed. This script might just be the worst idea for Supes in a long, sordid history of bad ideas. Hasn’t anyone at WB ever watched the Dini animated series?
DC Down, Marvel Up.
While Superman continues to languish over at Warner Brothers, Sony gets Michael Chabon to punch up the script for The Amazing Spiderman. Since so much of Spidey’s appeal is his internal monologue, Chabon sounds like a great choice.
Hack Attack
In the ongoing Superman saga over at Warner Brothers, McG is out and Brett Ratner is in (with Anthony Hopkins as Jor-El). Can’t say that’s much of an upgrade.
Please don’t get Hasselhoff.
This can’t be true, can it? Apparently Tim Burton is planning a Batman musical for Broadway. Did he see Joel Schumacher’s Batman on Ice revue? Must the Caped Crusader face yet another such indignity? Tune in next week…
Blam! Kazow!
Early pics of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen leak out. Looks Kavalier & Klay campy at the moment, but I doubt these fellows will be hamming it up this much for the studio shots.
With Power Comes Responsibilitude!
The Amazing George W, via PlasticBag. Can we get Cheney with the J. Jonah flattop?
Doc Ock a Lock?
In the Spiderman sequel camp, word’s leaking out that Stellan Skarsgard will play Otto Octavius, (better known as Doctor Octopus.) I thought they might go Philip Seymour Hoffman, but I like this casting.
