Trailer Day.

A veritable plethora of fanboy/girl trailers have hit the web in the past few days. For one, “The Second Renaissance,” the first episode of the Animatrix, has been posted. It’s probably better than almost all of T3. Also, AICN points the way to an extended Hulk trailer and our first look at The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (The site’s down a lot, but you might get lucky…I did.) The latter looks a bit disappointing, but my hopes for LXG are at Daredevil levels right now anyway (although DD is actually getting surprisingly good reviews.) Crack of Doom.

TORN.Net has the first spy report about what might be included in the 4-minute ROTK preview which will presumably be added to TTT at the end of March. MASSIVE spoilers for non-trilogy readers (I’m not sure I want to see the last scene mentioned until I see the full movie.) Also, if you don’t like the casting in the first two films, here’s some wallpapers to indulge you.

Superman Lives!

Great Caesar’s Ghost! Has Kal-El defeated the hacks? Apparently, both Brett Ratner and Michael Bay have now passed on the next Supes flick. And Chris Nolan of Memento is now tackling Batman. Perhaps DC might still throw off the Curse of Schumacher. (Yeah, right.) Update: Agh, Kryptonite! Ratner’s still on.

Welcome Back, Mr. Anderson.

During a 48-21 Tampa Bay blowout which never really got off the ground in terms of excitement, The Matrix sequels delivered the goods with this great new trailer. With the possible exception of Terry Tate, Office Linebacker (and I liked the Yao-Yo bit too), it was the highlight of the evening.

Green Machine.

AICN gets an early look at the Hulk Superbowl trailer. I think the link is broken now (I managed to download it to my desktop before it went under, but I don’t feel like crashing this site by posting it online.), but you can see a few screen-caps of what the gamma-ray freak in question looks like. A bit more cartoony than I expected, but that seems a stylistic choice more than a lapse in the FX. It looks better than Daredevil, at any rate. Update: The trailer is now available here.

Blind Justice.

The newest trailer for Daredevil is now online and, while it’s better than the last one, it still doesn’t quite work for me. Michael Clarke Duncan and Colin Farrell seem like they’re going to have fun chewing the scenery, and Jennifer Garner is obviously easy on the eyes, but Ben Affleck still seems grossly miscast in the lead. Matt Damon would probably have worked better, and Guy Pearce would have been dream casting. Ah, well, there’s still Ang Lee’s The Hulk.

Wormholes and Timelords.

As I mentioned earlier, the first of the last eleven episodes of Farscape begin tonight at 8pm on the Sci-Fi channel. This might be your last chance to pick up on one of the great sci-fi TV shows (Here’s a primer for new viewers.) And, from one great sci-fi TV show to another, Tomb of Horrors links to this BBC fellow prank-calling Tom Baker in the guise of the fourth Doctor…Baker comes off as remarkably good-humored about the whole thing.
