Sit down before you read this one, folks. In the well-duh dept., the Post front-pages the following story today: “Anger at Bush May Hurt GOP at Polls.” Really? Who woulda thunk it? Next you’ll be telling me that Santorum might be going down too.

Sure Santorum’s going to be gone, but what kind of stain will be there in his place? Bob Casey? Pass…
Which is why all PAans need to vote in the upcoming primary.
As I understand it, Santorum’s been closing the polling gap and is sitting on a pile of money. If Casey loses this, though, I’m sure Schumer and his friends will find a way to blame it on the EvilFeministsWhoAreBringingthePartyDown somehow… let’s just watch…
Last news I heard is that Santorum’s still down by double digits…so hopefully it won’t come to that. With Dubya’s numbers as they are, one would think that seat would be a gimme.
But nothing seems to come easy with these Dems.
You’re right, tho’ — Santorum does seem to have a lot of cash on hand.
I really don’t think that EvilFeministsWhoAreBringingthePartyDown, Inc., P.C. will actively vote against Casey in the general election, even though he is anti-choice. I mean, look who he’d be running against. (Primaries are another story.)
Which is why it doesn’t make any sense for Casey to have the backing of Democratic party in a state that went blue in 2004– anybody’s better than Santorum, and I bet a lot of moderate republicans see that too. He’s an embarassment.
No, I wouldn’t vote *against* Casey (don’t live in PA, so point is moot in this case), but it is no way to get women in that state to rally to the Democratic party. What, pray tell, FOR, in this case?
Plenty of Republicans are complete embarrassments, but with enough money, and with the Dems putting up lame choices, the embarrassments still often manage to win.
Anyway, Democrats don’t win without women. They just don’t. Stupid, stupid, stupid of them to ignore or avoid this fact. (see for example: the “pie” fights at dKos for endless rehashings of this issue…)
Agreed. Any Dem running, even against Santorum, needs support from the base, not just a horrible opponent.
