TF.N gets a first look at Episode III Obi-Wan…and his ride. Help us make Ep. 3 decent, Ewan, you’re our only hope.

The other franchises.
Lost in the hubbub over yesterday’s RotK footage were these two fanboy nuggets: the new Spiderman 2 poster and lots of new shots from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkhaban. Well, ok then.
Just a Fool’s Hope…
A special treat today…At long last, a Return of the King trailer! Judging from the lines and the lack of New Line stamp at the beginning, this looks to be the trailer included on the theatrical version of the Two Towers DVD, to be released August 26. And it looks GREAT!
Update: They’ve stolen the preciousss! Fortunately, I was one of the lucky ones who obtained a copy before New Line dropped the hammer. ‘Tis really a beauteous thing.
Update 2: I’m getting a number of e-mails from people asking me to send them the trailer. This won’t happen. My advice is (a) go here or here, (b) if they don’t work, check out the comments in this AICN thread for a new location (beware major spoilers), and/or (c) fire up Kazaa.
Taller Towers.
“The land had changed. Where before the green dale had lain, its grassy slopes lapping the ever-mounting hills, there now a forest loomed.” A lucky AICN spy from down under has seen the extended Two Towers, and he’s compiled a list of the major additions to the film. Massive spoilers here…spoilers that make me very happy.
Queen of the Damned.
The new trailer for Underworld is now online. I must say, it looks pretty terrible, even if the idea of building a movie around Kate Beckinsale in Matrix leather makes sense in the abstract. I’ll take saucy Brit Beckinsale over stoic Trinity any day of the week.
Who’s Scruffy-Looking?
The first pic of Gary Oldman as Sirius Black (in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkhaban) is now online, smiling along with Ron, Alan Rickman, and two unidentified girls. Nice ink. Update: Warner Brothers pulled it.
Avon Lives.
The original blueprint for Farscape, Blake’s 7 returns with a flash-intensive site and news of a possible mini-series. “As was the intention of the late Terry Nation, only Paul Darrow who played the character Avon will reprise his role, acting as a catalyst for a Rebellion Reborn. It is fair to say that all the original characters are dead and there are no plans for their resurrection.” Sure seemed like Avon died in the last episode twenty-two years ago, but I suppose he could’ve had a backup plan.
A Dark and Stormy Knight.
The much-hyped Batman fan film that was making the rounds at Comicon is now available for download (Might be faster off Kazaa, which is how I obtained it.) I could’ve done without the lame fanboy pr0n ending, to be honest. Batman, Joker, a dark alley, rain…why mess up a good thing with cross-genre cameos?
Harvey Returns?
Has Moya been rescued from oblivion? IGN reports that a 4-hour Farscape miniseries is in the works to tie up the loose ends left in the wake of Season 4. The Save Farscape headquarters has heard nothing, but there might be news at this weekend’s Comicon in San Diego, ground zero for the fanboyverse. (Speaking of which, I found one of the favorite multi-part stories of my comic book days, the Teen Titans Trigon Saga, in graphic novel format at Barnes and Noble today. A happy surprise.)
Narsil fights.
New Line has finally released the first official ROTK advertising poster. Apparently, this teaser is the first in a series highlighting each character. Veddy nice.
